Curbside Treasure Hunt

During the two-day event, Calgarians are encouraged to place reusable items they no longer need on their curbs for others to collect and use, effectively creating a massive, city-spanning garage sale with no cost involved.

The Treasure Hunt not only helps divert items from landfills but also offers a fun and interactive way for residents to declutter their homes and explore different neighbourhoods in search of hidden gems.

How It Works:

Gather: identify items in your home that you no longer need but could be valuable to someone else.
Label: mark these items with a “Free” label.
Place: set the items out at the curb on September 6 and 7.
Discover: residents and treasure hunters can explore different neighbourhoods, picking up items they find interesting or useful.
Clean up: remove leftover items from the curbside following the event. Visit calgary.ca/whatgoeswhere to find out where to recycle, donate or dispose of any remaining items.
