Events Description
Siksika artist, Adrian Stimson, responds to four archival photos of Fort Calgary and North-West Mounted Police Officers through artistic photographic interventions.
Dark Chambers features four doctored photographic pieces displayed side-by-side with archival photos. These artistic photographic interventions reflect on the establishment of Fort Calgary and the arrival of the North-West Mounted Police through performance and photography.
Adrian Stimson will open the The Confluence Symposium with a keynote speech on Friday, Oct. 3.
This event is being offered as part of an event series The Confluence is hosting to commemorate 150 years since the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) first arrived at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers and established Fort Calgary in 1875. The Confluence is taking a reflective approach in sharing the stories that make the site so significant. Find the full event line-up at theconfluence.ca/150
