Events Description
The confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers has been a place of gathering since time immemorial. Gather around the fire at the confluence for an afternoon of fascinating stories told by Indigenous storytellers from Treaty 7. Enjoy a cup of cider or hot chocolate and immerse yourself in tales expertly crafted by our speaker.
On March 17, join storyteller Julius Hirsch for an hour of tales from Blackfoot culture. Sheldon First Rider is from the Blood Nation in Southern Alberta who has taught the history, language, and culture of the Blackfoot people for over 45 years. For the last 15 years, Sheldon has shared stories of his ancestors and taught the people of Calgary and visitors to the land at the Glenbow Museum. Sheldon is excited to embark on a wonderful adventure teaching at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers at Fort Calgary to share his stories to all those who wish to listen.
