Events Description
“King” LeBron James’s reign in Cleveland brings promise, prosperity and renewal to a city in desperate need of all three. It also brings together two unlikely friends in a bond forged by fandom. Told over twelve years (from LeBron’s rookie season to an NBA Championship) King James is an intimate exploration of the place that sports occupy in our lives and relationships.
Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph’s clever and fast-paced comedy traces the arcs of two friends whose turbulent relationship is best navigated through their shared love of basketball. Both wonderfully funny and remarkably moving, King James dives into the heart of basketball fandom and highlights the profound connections that sports can cultivate.
“★★★★- A winning basketball bromance” – New York Stage Review
“Enormously entertaining… No basketball knowledge is necessary to enjoy ‘King James.’ It’s more a touching and funny story on the game of life and — no spoilers — the audience wins every night.” – San Diego Union Tribune
