Events Description
The ribbon skirt has become popular with Indigenous Peoples and allies across Turtle Island, serving as a symbol of womanhood, strength, and personal artistic expression. In this 2-day workshop, create your own one-of-a-kind ribbon skirt with instruction from Elder Linda Johnston and Knowledge Keeper Germaine LeRat. Lean the history behind the modern ribbon skirt — a collaboration that blends European-style cloth with Indigenous artistry — and sew a ribbon skirt from scratch with step-by-step instruction.
