Events Description
Pacho Flores brings his incredible trumpet skills to the Winspear Centre as he makes his ESO debut performing a dynamic new trumpet concerto written especially for him in 2018 by Arturo Márquez, Mexico’s most celebrated living composer. Two memorable Mexican orchestral showpieces – Huapango by José Pablo Moncayo and Sinfonía india by Carlos Chávez – complement the concerto.
After taking over a decade to compose his first symphony, Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 was finished in less than a year. However, this did not compromise the intricate and rich sound of the masterpiece, which includes his recognizable “lullaby” theme.
