Hotel Mira, a West Coast quartet led by Charlie Kerr, releases their first full-length album in three years, “I Am Not Myself”, exploring identity themes. The album, out on September 8 through Light Organ Records, marks a significant evolution from their 2020 hit, “Perfectionism”. Written largely during Kerr’s move from Vancouver to Los Angeles, the album intertwines autobiography with tragi-comic elements, reflecting Kerr’s identity crisis and personal transformation. It features a diverse sound, ranging from garage rock to glam-bop balladry, and addresses themes of love, loss, and community, aiming to connect deeply with listeners. The band, comprising Kerr, Clark Grieve, Mike Noble, and Cole George, collaborated with multiple producers across British Columbia for this release.
