Based on accounts, Comme la pluie sur un toit de tôle (“like rain on a tin roof”) offers a deeply human perspective on the experiences of people who have lived through or participated in the horrors of war. Playwright Claude Guilmain takes a close look at these ordinary people, who could easily be our loved ones and who found themselves at the heart of major armed conflicts. An essential and timely reflection on a human scale, far removed from media reports and political decisions.
Théâtre la Tangente makes its long-awaited return to Zones Théâtrales with this highly relevant work in progress. With Comme la pluie sur un toit de tôle, Guilmain continues his directorial journey, which also includes the National Film Board documentaries The Van Doos in Afghanistan – Mission Accomplished (2011) and High Wire (2019) Winner of the 2020 Gémeaux Award for Best Documentary Program.
