Events Description
The Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts is inviting the public to a special Open Day on Saturday, June 7th from 12:00 to 5:00pm to unveil its most ambitious exhibit to date: a 24-foot scale model of Juno Beach, commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day and honouring the Canadians who played a vital role in the Allied landings.
The event will take place at the Nutana Legion, 3021 Louise Street, and is completely free to attend. Families, history buffs, and curious visitors of all ages are welcome.
“This exhibit is more than a model—it’s a tribute to bravery, and a powerful educational tool built by local youth volunteers,” said Kevin Hicks, from the Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts. “We want people to come see it, engage with history, and be inspired.”
Event Highlights Include:
- View the stunning 24-foot model of Juno Beach
- Guess-the-Artifact challenge
- Hands-on artifact displays
- Activity sheets and interactive stations for kids
- Meet the youth team who built the model
