2 DAYS – 5 STAGES – 50+ AUTHORS & ILLUSTRATORS
Telling Tales returns to Royal Botanical Gardens’ Hendrie Park in Hamilton on October 4 and 5, featuring 50+ presentations by Canadian authors and illustrators, musical performances, theatre, movement workshops, and more, all designed to foster imagination and a lifelong love of reading.
This year’s headliners include Tanya Tagaq (internationally recognized Inuk throat singer, Giller Prize-nominated author) and Matthew Forsythe (lead character designer for Adventure Time, Oscar-nominated filmmaker, and children’s book author). The weekend will also feature Hamilton Children’s Choir, My Friend Christopher, Songs ‘n’ Tails, and numerous author sessions across age-specific tents.
FREE FAMILY FUN for everyone from tots to teens. Over 100 of Canada’s leading children’s authors, illustrators, storytellers, and musicians live and in-person!
Plus meet literary characters, explore the gardens, workshops, theatre, and activities, contests, and more.
Telling Tales is building a community of readers, writers and storytellers within Canada’s diverse communities. English, French, and Indigenous authors, artists, musicians, and poets engage even the most reluctant reader.
