Events Description

The FRDC is delighted to offer extra programming during long weekends with Summer Discovery Days! There’s so much to see and discover on these long summer days, and we hope you’ll join us!

The Fraser River is more than just water—it’s a storyteller carving canyons, stacking layers, and revealing Earth’s deep secrets. Join us as kids become junior geologists—exploring erosion with a stream table and observing a sediment jar to see layers form. We’ll also enjoy a storytime, zoom in on minerals with a real microscope, dig for hidden specimens, and play a rock cycle card game that turns science into play. Join us to discover how the river has shaped the land—and how geology helps tell its story!

WHAT:

– Explore erosion firsthand using a stream table

– Observe a sediment jar to reveal how layers of earth form over time
