Events Description
The Nestaweya River Trail presented by The Winnipeg Foundation is about getting outside safely and enjoying the best season in Winnipeg, winter.
This year you will be able to walk, bike, skate and cross country ski along the city’s beautiful rivers making it one of our “biggest” trails ever.
HOW MUCH
Tickets: Free
Skate Rentals are currently available through Iceland Skate Rentals.
Rental rates are $4 for children and seniors and $7 for adults.
Skate sharpening: $6
WHEN & WHERE
Date & Time: Portions of the Nestaweya River Trail are now open. Additional portions will open as conditions permit. Please check for closure updates here.
In the past, the trail has opened in January and usually closes in March.
Note: The River Trail completely depends on the weather and ice conditions. There are no set hours for the trail. However, the ice is groomed late at night or early morning, so be aware of machines and staff on the ice.
Skate Rentals: Open Daily: 10am – 10pm weather permitting

You can access the trail from The Forks and access points are added as conditions allow. Make sure to check the website for which access points are open.
