The deal gives Foodtastic exclusive rights to develop the Dunkin’ brand across Canada through both corporate-owned and franchised restaurants. The companies say the plan includes opening hundreds of locations nationwide in the coming years.

The first Canadian Dunkin’ location is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027. Foodtastic will oversee franchise recruitment, operations and market development as the rollout begins.

Peter Mammas, founder and CEO of Foodtastic, described the agreement as a major growth opportunity for the company and its franchise partners. He also pointed to Foodtastic’s existing relationship with Inspire Brands through Jimmy John’s operations in Canada.

Dunkin’ menus in Canada are expected to include hot and iced coffees, espresso drinks, teas, donuts, sandwiches and snack items.

Michael Haley, president of international at Inspire Brands, said the company sees Canada as an important market and noted Foodtastic’s track record of expanding restaurant brands.

Foodtastic currently operates more than 1,200 establishments across Canada under 27 brands, including Second Cup, Freshii, Quesada and Pita Pit.

Dunkin’, founded in 1950, has grown into one of the world’s largest coffee and donut chains, with more than 14,200 restaurants across nearly 40 international markets. The brand is part of the Inspire Brands portfolio, which also includes Arby’s, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s and SONIC. The chain previously exited Canada in 2018.

More details about the first Canadian location and franchise opportunities are expected as development moves forward.
