United Arab Emirates’ flagship airlines, Etihad Airways and Emirates, will add daily flights between Toronto and Abu Dhabi and Dubai International Airports, respectively.

The move is following the expansion of the air transport agreement between Canada and the UAE.
Emirates announced that it will increase its frequency on the Dubai-Toronto route with two additional flights per week starting from April 20, bringing the total daily flights to serve the busy route to seven.
Emirates operates A380 aircraft on the route, allowing 491 passengers across Economy Class, Business Class and First Class on each flight. With the addition of the two new weekly flights, Emirates will offer nearly 2,000 additional seats, representing a 40% increase in capacity between Dubai and Toronto.
Etihad Airways will introduce an additional weekly flight between Abu Dhabi and Toronto on May 30, offering a daily connection between the two cities. This is in addition to the six-per-week flight schedule currently offered by the airline.
The enhanced connectivity means more options for travellers to India, UAE, Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka as these countries represent top destinations for travellers from Toronto.
Emirates and Etihad have a codeshare partnership with Air Canada enabling travellers seamless connectivity when flying to domestic points within Canada via Toronto. Etihad also has an interline agreement with WestJet.
