Known for being the frontman of treasured Canadian rock folk group Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy has recorded three albums as a solo artist.
3. Prokofiev Symphony 5
Two appealing works displaying different facets of jazz—Gershwin’s free-wheeling and exuberant American-style concerto, and Shostakovich’s potpourri of lively dances and marches—share the bill with the epic symphony that Shostakovich’s fellow Russian, Prokofiev, composed as the end of World War II was rapidly approaching.
