The extremely popular train tours are already on sale, and the busy October weekend tickets sell out much before the fall season arrives. The spectacular Agawa Canyon Train Tours explore the Canadian Shield with its rugged beauty, untouched forests and beautiful rivers.

This year’s train tours began on August 1, and the last trip is on October 18th.

The journey is exceptionally magical during the fall when you can enjoy the myriad colours of the season, from golden yellows to breathtaking hues of red and orange.

The train begins from Sault Ste. Marie, travelling 114 miles north, descends 500 feet over the last 10 miles to reach its destination at Agawa Canyon.

Once the train reaches the stunning Canyon Park, you can explore it for an hour and a half. The park has well-maintained, fine-gravel trails leading to four waterfalls and fantastic scenery.

The Algoma region has been the inspiration of artists who have shared the beauty of this place with other people through their art. Between 1918 and 1923, the Group of Seven made stunning artwork here.

The train tours start at 8:00 a.m. and take 4 hours to Agawa Canyon Park. After a 90-minute stop, the train takes another 4.5 hours to return to Sault Ste. Marie.

Passengers wanting a first-class experience on the train can book a private business car. The Stone Gardner offers first-class comfort with theatre-style seating for 24, swivel lounge chairs, a full-service kitchen, and a private washroom. Group bookings receive exclusive use of the coach; individual tickets are unavailable.
