Google is adding online food ordering feature in Canada and KFC Canada is piloting this feature across Google Search, Google Maps and Google Assistant.
How to use Google’s Food Ordering Feature
Canadians who search for their local KFC on Google Search or Google Maps will see a new “Order Online” button, and once they click it, they can then browse their local KFC menu, place an order for delivery or pickup, and then pay securely without leaving the Google platform.
You can also order with Google Assistant on Android and iOS phones.
To start an order, say “Hey Google, order food from KFC.” You can reorder your previous order by saying, “Hey Google, order food again from KFC.” This will cause Google Assistant to pull up past orders so they can check out in a few seconds.
It is only a matter of time before other food retailers jump to Google Bandwagon. You might even be able to order alcohol via Google, just like SkipTheDishes, which recently started alcohol delivery in Alberta.
