Latin Sparks Festival
Attend the ‘partiest’ Latin festival in all of Canada and celebrate Latin culture, music and food this weekend in Toronto.
If you’ve never tried salsa before, they offer free salsa dance lessons. The Star Dance Center will teach you some sick salsa moves right there on the dance floor. You can easily spot their members who will be wearing marked T-shirts. They also give free beginner Bachata dance lessons at the festival.
The Latin Sparks festival will be hosted by Clifton Stennett and Matty Jay. There will be many thrilling performances, such as a live 10-piece salsa band performance. You can find more details about the singer, saxophonist and percussionist on their website. There will be 2 live band performances during the festival.
Enjoy a unique musical mashup by 2 musicians and a DJ followed by amazing dance performances. You will be blown away by incredible Brazilian dances and percussion performances. The Brazilian dance is a 15-piece Samba Fusion, which is said to transport you to a Brazilian Carnival. They don’t just have 1 DJ but 2 DJs, so it is double the fun!
The venue will have multiple stages so that everyone can enjoy the festival. They also have an outdoor bar. Latin Sparks will end with a crowd dance, where you can try out all the new salsa and bachata dance moves that you’ve just learned.
There are many food trucks which are offering a wide variety of delicious treats. All of these snacks are authentic Latin street food. You will find both sweet and savoury items, such as Tacos, Paella and Empanadas, Paletas, Churros, Braised beef sandwiches, and Seco Se Carne.
The Latin Sparks festival will take place at 2 locations: Toronto and Ottawa. The Ottawa festival is on September 10th.
