UPDATE 04/26 : these masks are SOLD OUT! Please check on my website as I will now be selling them there rather than via DM ♥️ Ask, and you shall receive! For a while I wasn’t sure how I felt about masks, if I thought they were necessary, if I wanted to wear them, wanted to make them…but then my Dad asked for some for the family, several friends did the same, and then it was finally recommended by the CDC that homemade masks be worn while in public spaces where social distancing is difficult to maintain (grocery stores! pharmacies! public transit!). Well ok then, I’m on board! But if I’m going to wear a mask it might as well be damn cute, and preferably match my outfit. ⁣😌⁣ ⁣⁣ These are pleated 2-layer 100% cotton masks with stretchy adjustable ties that can be worn either around the ears or around the head/neck. Cloth masks are largely unregulated, but the most important thing is that the fit is tight, secure and extends from above the nose to below the chin. I tried several mask variations and found that this style stays most secure especially when talking and moving the face, and the ties allow a diversity in adult fit (fits myself and my boyfriend). ⁣⁣ These are NOT a substitute for medical masks, and I strongly encourage that you do your own research. They will NOT protect you from COVID-19, rather aid in preventing an asymptomatic person from unknowingly spreading the virus. It will also help remind you NOT to touch your eyes, nose, mouth when out in public. Lastly masks are also a social device, a reminder to be considerate of each other's space, and a sign that we are all in this together protecting each other as we go about the world. My hope is that the whimsy of these will cut through the severity and bring a smile to many a masked face 🙂 Xoxo
