Get ready to celebrate winter as one of Canada’s premier ski resorts opens for the 2023-24 season tomorrow.
Lake Louise Ski Resort, located in the Banff National Park, will welcome visitors to its powdery slopes beginning at 9:00 a.m. on November 3rd.
The ski resort also has plans for a special surprise for the first 200 people who ride the lift on the opening day.
The Glacier Express Chair is set to start operations at 9:00 a.m., granting access to the Wiwaxy, Bald Eagle, and a section of Easy Street slopes. Combined, these slopes will create the longest continuous run available in the Canadian Rockies! Additionally, the resort plans to operate the Grizzly Gondola this weekend.
You can also find a variety of food and drink options at the Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria, Slopeside Coffee, Bier Stube, and Powder Keg Lounge.
If you are a non-skier and want to enjoy and experience Lake Louise Ski Resort, you can take a ride to the top of the mountain on the sightseeing gondola or book a guided sightseeing Snowshoe Tour (usually begins mid to late December) that will take you to some of the most breathtaking scenic vantage points in the Canadian Rockies. You can choose between a Wildlife Snowshoe Tour and a Night Snowshoe Tour in addition to their daytime tour.
There is also a Snow Tube Park (usually opens in December) where the whole family can enjoy a thrilling experience sliding and spinning down the snow-laden slope.
Lake Lousie Ski Resort covers an area of 4,200 acres and has 145 runs (marked + back bowls) with 25% beginner, 45% intermediate and 30% advanced. The ski resort is served by ten lifts, including three magic carpets.
