Nova Scotia has declared Monday, September 19, 2022, as a provincial holiday in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service in London.

The announcement follows the declaration of Sept. 19th as a National Day of Mourning by Justin Trudeau.
Monday will be a one time holiday for provincial government offices, public schools and regulated child care. Private businesses can decide whether to remain open or closed.
As per the news release, healthcare services, appointments and procedures will remain operational across the province.
September 19th is a holiday for federal employees.
“Nova Scotia joins the Government of Canada and other provinces recognizing September 19 as a day to honour and pay tribute to the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” said Premier Tim Houston in a statement.
The province will hold a multi-faith memorial service which will be open to the public in Halifax at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Cathedral Lane on Monday, September 19, at 2 p.m.
