Saskatchewa announced Tuesday that those who received the AstraZeneca vaccine or mixed doses of mRNA vaccines can receive additional doses of either Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The additional doses are intended for those who may require them for international travel as some countries are requiring proof of vaccination with specific vaccines.

Effective starting August 17th:

  • Residents who received a combination of AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna can receive a third dose of vaccine to match their last vaccine brand, as long as their last vaccination was Pfizer or Moderna.
  • Individuals who received two doses of Covishield or Astra Zeneca are able to complete a schedule to support international travel requirements with two additional matching mRNA vaccines such as Pfizer or Moderna.

Saskatchewan is asking residents to check on the approved vaccines for the country, venue or destination they are intending to visit.

Proof of intent to travel will not be required to receive the vaccination.

Appointments can be booked at pharmacies offering vaccinations or at a pop-up clinic in a nearby location.
