Uber Canada says it has obtained an operating licence in Winnipeg.
The company tweeted that it is looking for drivers so that operations can start this summer.

Uber is also promising a cash bonus to 100 drivers who complete 20 trips once the company launches in Winnipeg.
Uber has made masks mandatory for all Uber drivers and passengers in Canada.
Meanwhile, in Toronto drivers for Uber Technologies Inc.’s premium Black service are fighting to bring themselves one stop closer to unionization and being recognized as employees of the popular ride-sharing app.
