Vankleek Hill is getting a new namesake tulip field and farm.
This family-run, u-pick tulip farm near Ottawa lets you enjoy all that spring has to offer. The owners of the tulip field, Mike Block and Sandra Bebbington-Block, wanted to bring a bit of Holland back home after a visit to the Netherlands.
With the ultimate goal of sharing their love for tulips with everyone, Mike and Sandra began the process of bringing this tulip field to life last spring in their 5-acre property consisting of a beautiful 180-year-old stone farmhouse and a barn.
They planted over 300,000 bulbs that will grow into pretty, delicate, vibrant blocks of tulips.
So get ready to soak in the beauty of spring during the farm’s second year. You can pick your own tulips to take home with you or gift them to someone you love. You can also buy a bouquet of lovely, sweet-smelling tulips here.
There is a terrace on the property where you can sit under the warm sun and admire the colourful fields. You can enjoy a wonderful family picnic in the field as seating is available. Visitors can also buy snacks and drinks to enjoy their picnic.
The Vankleek Tulip Fields also sells different varieties of tulip bulbs that you can purchase online so that you can grow pretty, brightly coloured tulips in your garden back at home.
The Vankleek Hill Tulip Fields is located at 199 Main St East, Vankleek Hill and is approximately 100 km from Ottawa. After your trip, explore Vankleek Hill.
