Known as the Big Silver Maple Leaf, the coin, a 10-kilogram numismatic piece made of 99.99% pure silver, was introduced at the 2025 World Money Fair in Berlin, Germany, an event that brings together the global minting industry.
Per the news release, this coin is the heaviest and largest of its kind, featuring all the signature elements of the original 1 oz. Silver Maple Leaf.
This 10-kilogram silver coin holds the highest face value in its category at $1,000, while its 230-millimetre diameter makes it the largest 99.99% pure Silver Maple Leaf coin ever produced.
It was produced at the Ottawa facility using a 2,500-ton hydraulic press, ensuring a precise and detailed design. The coin includes Walter Ott’s iconic sugar maple leaf at its center, a micro-engraved maple leaf security mark, and an intricate radial line pattern on both sides. The obverse showcases the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
