York-Durham Heritage Railway will take you on a scenic adventure back in time through the Oak Ridges Moraine between Uxbridge and Stouffville.
Your beautiful adventure through the countryside will be on their heritage coaches that date back to the mid-1900s and have been well maintained and refurbished over time by York-Durham Heritage Railway Association.
For example, locomotive 3612 was originally used on US railroads until 1955, when it was sent to Canada at the Petromont Plant. The next year it was added to the collection of cars and coaches at YDHR. The entertainment car was built in 1954, by Canadian Car and Foundry for Canadian National Railway. It was later converted to a cafe/coach by CN and then to an entertainment car in 1990, by Ontario Northland. In 2017 it was purchased by the station.
YDHR also has a collection of historic locomotives, coaches, boxcars, a caboose, and a kiddie train, as well. All of these are equipped with heaters and air conditioners.
The York-Durham Heritage Railway Association’s goal is to preserve and promote this heritage by offering this fun tourist railway experience for everyone.

Extremely Disappointing Experience
My family, along with friends, purchased nine tickets for an event in December 2022. Unfortunately, the dates were changed twice without proper notice. Despite our initial agreement, we faced difficulties reaching out for assistance, with calls and emails going unanswered.
In December 2022, we received an email allowing us to use the reservation for any 2023 event. However, attempts to confirm available dates for this December were met with silence. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disheartening experience, especially for our five children who were eagerly anticipating Christmas adventures last year, only to be disappointed again.
Despite reaching out multiple times this November, we have yet to receive a response regarding available dates. The lack of communication and unmet expectations have made this the worst experience of its kind in my life.
I urge the management to address these issues promptly, as we are still hoping for a positive resolution to salvage our holiday plans.
