After two years of High Park cherry trees being closed off to visitors during the peak bloom period, the city of Toronto will allow in-person visits to the popular cherry blossom viewing location this year.
As was the case in 2019, the city will not allow parking inside High Park during the peak bloom period. Vehicle access with the exception of TTC Wheel-Trans vehicles will be restricted. High Park will continue to be closed to vehicle traffic on weekends and public holidays.
The Bloom Cam, or the online viewing of cherry blossoms will be available once again this year. The city in a news release said the Bloom Cam had almost 125,000 unique views and was watched for more than 36,600 hours on 2020.
Cherry Blossoms are expected to bloom by early May and they will last 4 to 10 days after the full bloom depending on the weather.
The city will update the details when the bloom period is determined. The information will also be available on the city’s webpage.
