Your journey to the mysterious Canadian Arctic will start at a life-sized base camp at Downtown Saskatoon‘s Midtown Plaza.
The exhibition, Arctic: A Man Under The Ice, features vivid images taken by the famed wildlife and underwater cinematographer Mario Cyr on his numerous expeditions. Be awed by the breathtaking landscapes, and the spectacular northern lights, while you meet narwhals, starfish, polar bears, and various diverse aquatic animals that have been captured by his lens on his many dives.
As you move along, discover the Floe Edge where sea ice meets open water and the Iceberg Garden with its larger-than-life images, whale song and the music of Jean-Michel Blais, and the Cave that plays three documentary videos.
Your journey ends with an awe-inspiring virtual dive into the freezing waters with Cyr in 360-degree projection space.

While a trip to the Arctic is not something that many people can undertake, this exhibition will give you a feeling of being on a real underwater expedition as well as an understanding of this massive marine ecosystem, and the rich life in this fragile landscape while subtly reminding us of its fragility.
