Breathe in the crisp Georgian Bay air and step into a winter celebration like no other. The Mid‑Winter Social transforms the historic grounds of Discovery Harbour into a lively mix of glowing firepits, heritage experiences, delicious comfort food, and hands‑on adventures.

It’s winter the way it should be — cozy, active, joyful, and a little bit magical.

Activities for Everyone!
• Take in the sights and sounds of winter as you enjoy a scenic tractor-pulled wagon ride around Discovery Harbour.
• Experience the peaceful beauty of winter as you strap on snowshoes and trek along our specially designed snowshoeing trail.*
• Feel the thrill as you zoom down our kid-friendly snow tubing hill*
• Discover a unique selection of handcrafted treasures, tasty treats, and beautiful creations at our indoor vendor market.
• Get creative at a wide range of craft stations designed with crafts and activities to keep little hands busy and big imaginations soaring
• Let your imagination run wild at our kids’ face painting station!
• Step back in time as you enter Keating House and see how food was prepared in the 19th century. Warm up with a sample of freshly boiled maple syrup
• Watch sparks fly as our skilled blacksmiths demonstrate the artistry and craftsmanship of working with metal at the outdoor forge.
• Step into history by trying on authentic reproduction uniforms of 19th-century British soldiers.
• Roast bannock over a roaring open fire
• Experience the sights and sounds of the past as our historical interpreters demonstrate the firing of a musket using black powder.
• Join our knowledgeable guides for an engaging tour of the historic Officers’ Quarters.
• Marvel at the preserved remains of the H.M.S. Tecumseth shipwreck, a fascinating relic of Canada’s naval history.
• Keep an eye out for beloved costumed characters who will be roaming the site and ready for photos, hugs, and high-fives. Characters to be announced!
• Put your teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test in our exciting Escape Room adventure. Can you solve the puzzles, crack the codes, and escape the Brig in time? Advanced reservations are required.

• Service animals only are permitted at this special event. Please leave pets at home
• The event will run rain, shine, or snow (dress for the weather!)
• Most activities take place outdoors—please come prepared
• Captain Roberts’ Table will be open during the event!

Indigenous people are eligible for free admission with valid ID (escape room not included)
Season pass holders get free admission (escape room sold separately)
