It’s a time and place where engineers show their creative sides, and artists get technical, where science hits the street, and everyone gets ingenious. Everyone is warmly encouraged to take part. Find yourself immersed in engineered art, international ingenuity competitions, public performances, community challenges, backyard-built contraptions, and creations of your own making.
2024
This year, Beakerhead is going to be held completely at TELUS Spark Science Centre so the event can fit in every bit of STEAM possible! Prepare for two premium event nights – packed with special programming, the return of Beaker Bar, speciality cocktails, key note speakers, unforgettable art installations and more – plus three daytime experiences sure to please families.
Expect a whole new lineup of STEAM-inspired programming, artists, experiences, talks, food, fun, and of course, FIRE! All while explore the entirety of Calgary’s only science centre!
- DAY ONE of Beakerhead is jam-packed with programming the whole family can enjoy from live science demonstrations, to Baby Beakerhead and so much more, you’ll want to be one of the FIRSTS to experience it all!
- NIGHT ONE of Beakerhead is when the party really begins, as experiences light-up in the darkness and local DJ’s set the vibe for an awesome time!
- DAY TWO of Beakerhead features the same exciting experiences as Day One but this time, SQUONK takes the mainstage to get everyone involved in the Brouhaha fun!
- NIGHT TWO is another classic Beakerhead party, but this time, keynote speaker Anthony Morgan, from CBC’s The Nature of Things gets into how we talk, perceive and think about science in our everyday lives!
- Don’t sleep on DAY THREE of Beakerhead, because it’s FILLED with a little bit of everything from the entire weekend. The big highlight? The Hack the House Challenge and an expert panel talk about the innovations in STEM (science, tech, engineering & math) featuring Anthony Morgan, from CBC’s The Nature of Things!

Daytime Beakerhead experiences are included in a Spark General Admission ticket, but will sell out fast!
Nighttime tickets:
Tickets: $36.00 per person, per night. Children 3 and under FREE.
