Block Heater is an annual winter festival presented by the Calgary Folk Fest that highlights incredible Canadian and international artists.
We’ve been gassing up the perfect cozy weekend to get your musical engines revving – indoors and outdoors, downtown and just over the river. You’ll be over the moon and singing amongst the stars with our sizzling lineup of 27 artists from four continents and eight countries, including our own Albertan backyard.
Take in concerts and the Festival’s trademark collaborative sessions in Inglewood and downtown Calgary. From intimate performances to dance parties, there’s something for everyone at Block Heater. Plus you can bring your skates for an evening of free performances at Olympic Plaza in partnership with Chinook Blast.
Block Heater showcases an array of artists including The Devil Makes Three, Tanya Tagaq, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Daniel Romano, Jesse Roper, Kate Stables from This is the Kit, Vieux Farka Touré, Matt Holubowski, Rich Aucoin, Tanika Charles, Megan Remy of U.S. Girls and many more!
