HALO HALO MERKADO (12-5 PM): Step into the heart of Filipino culture at the Merkado! This lively marketplace will bring together Filipino arts, food, and traditions in one dynamic space. Explore works from local artist collectives like Indioz Bravoz and Hawak Kamay, participate in a Neon Baybayin Workshop with Indioz Bravoz, and engage in community chats with FilipinosRising and the Philippine Arts Council. Plus, discover organizations like the Asian Heritage Foundation and the Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation—all while enjoying food, art and fun activities.
HALO HALO OPENING RECEPTION (4-7 PM): Don’t miss the Halo Halo Opening Reception—a special celebration of Filipino cuisine, music, and art! Taste amazing Filipino dishes from Amihan Grill & Bakeshop, groove to the beats of DJ Fatrok, and vote for your favourite place to grab Halo Halo in Calgary!
Come down, celebrate, and mingle with Halo Halo principal artists Jasmine Atay and Sam Mendoza, along with their talented creative team, as they share the inspiring stories behind the subjects of their captivating Halo Halo showcase.
