Events Description
As part of Mount Royal Kantorei’s 30th anniversary season, Where We Are Going is a reflection of our journey as a choir—past, present, and future. This special program was curated by our singers, featuring pieces the choir has always longed to perform. Each selection speaks to who we are and the music that moves us.
From the ethereal harmonies of Jake Runestad’s Ritual and Elaine Hagenberg’s O Love to the evocative storytelling of Don Macdonald’s Bridge Builder and Vienna Teng’s Hymn of Axciom, this concert showcases the diverse and deeply expressive repertoire that defines Kantorei. We explore moments of introspection with Billy Joel’s And So It Goes and the luminous Goodnight Moon by Eric Whitacre, while also celebrating resilience and hope with Christopher Tin’s Hope is the Thing with Feathers and Sherryl Sewepegaham’s Nitohtamok Askiy.
This performance is not just a concert—it’s a declaration of our musical identity and a promise of what’s to come. Join us for an unforgettable evening of choral artistry as we sing the music that shapes Where We Are Going.
