Bannock Fest

Sample Bannock from talented contestants, cheer on celebrity judges, and enjoy hands-on Indigenous-themed activities for the whole family, all while supporting Indigenous people’s access to programs and experiences at the Science Centre.

Experiences

• Bannock Competition
  Contestants will bring their Bannock to be judged in three different categories:
  • Judge’s Choice (celebrity judges, more details to come)
  • People’s Choice (guests can purchase a ballot to vote)
  • Kid’s Choice (celebrity junior judges)
• Teachings of the Medicine Wheel
  Spin the Medicine Wheel to reveal one aspect of wellness, then follow a guided activity that helps you reflect on and connect with that part of yourself.
• Aunty Bingo: Enjoy an interactive game of Aunty Bingo and win prizes! Bingo cards cost $1 each.
• The Science Garage
• Arctic Games: Try Arctic Games such as Leg Fight, Knuckle Hop, and Muskox Fight, hands on challenges inspired by Inuit traditions. Test strength, balance, and focus through friendly, low impact competition.
• Arctic Journey
• Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream: Enjoy some delicious Saskatoon berry liquid nitrogen ice cream made right before your eyes.
• Syncrude Science Stage
• Indigenous Artisan Market: Browse and purchase one-of-a-kind jewellery, candles, artwork, clothing, and so much more at the Indigenous Artisan Market.
• Explore Galleries: Explore favourites like Arctic Journey, The Science Garage, and Health Zone. Please note that Jurassic World by Brickman and all other galleries not mentioned will be closed during the event.
