Events Description
Martin Kerr is raising his voice against rising fascism and threats to democracy with his powerful new album Overdue for a Revolution. The project has already sparked worldwide attention online for its outspoken message, blending Kerr’s trademark heartfelt songwriting with urgent political commentary.
Kerr will celebrate the album’s release with a special concert at the Maclab Theatre in Leduc on Saturday, September 6, marking the beginning of his Overdue for a Revolution tour.
Known for his poetic lyrics and passionate performances, Kerr has built an international following with millions of streams and thousands of shows around the world. But with this new project, he says he “couldn’t sing about anything else” in the face of democratic backsliding and rising extremism. His music calls listeners to reflect, resist, and rediscover hope.
“Songs have always been a tool for resistance,” says Kerr. “If my music can spark conversations or give people courage in these times, then it’s doing its job.”
Kerr’s fearless artistic turn has been met with an outpouring of support online, where his political parodies and protest songs have reached millions of viewers worldwide. Overdue for a Revolution expands that vision into a full-length statement of protest, love, and defiance.
