In October, we are delighted to welcome Ben Sures and Matt Patershuk.
Widely regarded as one of Canada’s great roots writers, Matt Patershuk has a gift for finding extraordinary stories in ordinary lives. His songs are populated by working people, prairie characters, hard-earned wisdom and flashes of dry humour, all delivered with an unmistakable voice and a songwriter’s eye for the details that matter.
Ben Sures brings a different kind of spark to the evening. A masterful guitarist, sharp observer and wonderfully inventive writer, Ben has spent decades turning curiosity, wit and everyday experience into songs that can be funny, tender, surprising and occasionally all three at once.
Together, Matt and Ben offer a fitting beginning to PSFC: two remarkable Alberta artists, a room built for listening, and songs worth gathering around.
