Celebrate the pioneer roots of Alberta’s Ukrainian community!

Witness history come alive as Alberta’s Ukrainian community celebrates its pioneer roots as well as all things Ukrainian in the province today. An afternoon concert featuring the best in Ukrainian dance and music takes place at this annual event co-hosted with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council. Other family fun includes a visit to the historical village, children’s activities, village market and the Ukrainian Village Food Festival.

Historical Village Activities (10 am to 5 pm): Don’t miss the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the historical village today! Step inside the captivating historic buildings and engage in conversations with our costumed interpreters. They are eager to share the story of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta with you.

Feature Exhibit (10 am to 5 pm): Make, Mend and Modify: Ukrainians Adapting in Alberta.

The exhibit, supported by Lamont County, highlights artifacts that have been made, mended or modified, encouraging visitors to explore and connect with the pioneer spirit of ‘making do’.

Vendor Market & Gift Shop (10 am – 5pm): Discover a treasure trove of curated goods from local vendors at our Village Vendors Market while taking in the musical performances on the Courtyard stage.

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Gift Shop situated in the Visitor Center, take home a piece of the experience with unique and thoughtfully selected items from our gift shop.

Culinary Delights (10 am to 5 pm): Savor the tastes of tradition with on-site food services from Kalyna Kitchen and Sweets n’ Treats.

Children’s Activities (11 am to 4 pm): Join us at the Children’s Activities Tent, hosted by Yatran Dance, for Ukrainian Day-themed kids’ crafts, lively lawn games, and exciting face painting!

Ukrainian Day Concert (1 pm to 5pm): The concert will be a celebration of Ukrainian dance, music, and song, reflecting the rich artistic heritage of Alberta. Additionally, we will pay homage to Metis heritage through the enchanting melodies of a Metis fiddler.
