Events Description
The Alberta Aviation Museum is charting its course towards a better future with its 10th Annual Celebration of Women of Aviation Worldwide Week (WOAW). Join the global momentum for gender representation in the aviation industry
In the main museum, we will have activities tailored to various age groups. For the younger ones, our Kids’ Programming will host several interactive stations. The simulator lab will be open for those with a simulator ticket ($5.00 per 20 minutes).
We are offering a 45-minute kids’ tour, scheduled twice throughout the day.
For our adult audience, we have curated a 45-minute adult tour, complemented by keynote presentations from women in the field.
As part of our celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), we are thrilled to introduce innovative presentations on “object handling.” This special feature will showcase never-before-seen artifacts, including uniforms from flight attendants in the 1960s-1990s and RCAF uniforms from the 1940s-1950s. Through this presentation, we aim to shed light on the historical expectations placed on women’s appearance within aviation and honor the contributions of women throughout the decades.
