Events Description
The Seiler Trio unites three exceptional Canadian musicians, Mayumi Seiler, violin, Rachel Mercer, cello, and Angela Park, piano, who explore the rich traditions of the piano trio repertoire with a unique blend of intensity, passion, and generosity. Their performances also include ventures into diverse styles and new Canadian compositions.
Mayumi, Rachel, and Angela have collaborated in various ensembles over the past two decades, including the Via Salzburg Chamber Series, Ensemble Made In Canada, and the Mercer-Park Duo. Since 2010, they have performed together as the Seiler Trio.
“…the audience was transfixed as Seiler and Mercer weaved lyrically in and out with their violin and cello respectively, between an equally memorable piano part by Park… Seiler and Mercer demonstrated seemingly effortless ease… all three ladies played with passion and emotion, leaving even the most athletic people in the room in awe of their stamina.”— Natalie Higashi, Nikkei Voice
“…the trio was remarkably in synch and appeared to experience pleasure at the making of music. In particular, during the dance-like passages, all three musicians exhibited a wonderful rhythmic movement with the music…”— Robin Rogers, Ludwig van Toronto
