Events Description
On June 9, owners and players of the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers will recognize the many volunteers who work tirelessly to run the concession stands, clean up, and hold charitable efforts that take place at every home game of the local team. Through these efforts, volunteers have been able to donate more than $40,000 since the team was launched some three years ago to groups like Special Olympics Chatham-Kent, Camp Vincent Youth Summer Camp, Society of St Vincent de Paul, and Refuge. The Knights of Columbus, who organizes the fundraising and volunteer program, expects to raise even more this year. In total, some 40 local charities have received funding from this program.
All net proceeds from the 50/50 draw at the June 9 game will go to the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, which last year distributed more than 20,000 brand new coats to children across Ontario.
