Fuel Up & Stay Warm
No need to pack a lunch! We’ll be serving up pizza by the slice ($2 each) and steaming mugs of hot chocolate to keep those toes toasty.
Flint Knapping Workshop
Long before the snap of a modern lighter or the strike of a steel match, there was the rhythmic clink of stone against stone. On Monday, February 16, we invite you to sit where generations have stood and master the survival skills of the past.
1:00pm to 3:00pm
Join us for a rare, hands-on workshop led by Archaeologist Chris Dalton, President of the Grand River Chapter of the Ontario Archaeological Society. Under his expert eye, you will learn to “read” the stone, using controlled percussion and pressure flaking to transform raw chert and flint into functional beauty.
