Black History Month Comedy Events

This February, Spotlight Comedy Club is proud to celebrate Black History Month with a powerful series of comedy shows featuring some of the strongest voices in stand-up today, while actively supporting the future of Black female comedians.

Throughout the month, Spotlight will present high-energy, professionally curated lineups showcasing acclaimed performers and rising stars, including Jean Paul, Keesha Brownie, Gee Gethiga, Chris Robinson, Marlon Palmer, Patrick Haye, Gavin Stephens, Tamara Shevon, Michael Moses, Black Zeus, and Zabrina Douglas.

February’s programming is designed to both entertain and uplift—creating space for bold perspectives, cultural storytelling, and voices that have historically been underrepresented on comedy stages. A key focus of the month is providing meaningful visibility and opportunity for Black women in comedy, helping to inspire and support the next generation of performers.

“Comedy is one of the most powerful ways to connect people through truth, culture, and shared experience,” says Jeff Gale, founder of Spotlight Comedy Club. “This month is about celebrating Black excellence on stage while also making sure future Black female comedians can see themselves reflected—and supported—in this industry.”

Spotlight Comedy Club has quickly become known for delivering intimate, premium live comedy experiences in downtown St. Catharines while remaining deeply connected to the local community. February’s Black History Month lineup reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to representation, artist development, and inclusive programming.

All Black History Month performances take place throughout February at Spotlight Comedy Club in downtown St. Catharines. Seating is limited for each show.
