Celebrate the artists, creators and industry leaders shaping Ottawa’s music scene at the 2026 Capital Music Awards, live from the National Arts Centre.
The Capital Music Awards are a marquee event of Capital Music Week, presented by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC). Running October 2–10, the nine-day celebration brings together 100+ artists across 20+ venues throughout Ottawa, with live shows, showcases, industry events, networking, film, nightlife and the national Canada After Dark summit.
Hosted by Tyler Shaw and Kellylee Evans, the Capital Music Awards bring together award presentations and live performances from J3M, Shim in the Cut with Buja Ensemble Dance Crew, Céleste Lévis & JOLY, John Kofi Dapaah, Orchidae with Nick Schofield & OrKidstra, and Opartheeb.
The evening culminates with a special performance of Ottawa’s official 200th anniversary anthem, “Heart of This Place (Adàwe c’est ma ville)”, featuring Amanda Rheaume, Yao and Jessica Pearson.
The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is a bilingual, member-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and growing Ottawa’s music ecosystem. Through advocacy, education, collaboration, and live programming, OMIC supports artists and industry professionals while positioning music as a key driver of cultural and economic vitality in the nation’s capital.
