12 PM Onwards – Grand Diwali Bazaar:
The venue will be transformed into a colourful Indian marketplace, featuring food vendors from various Indian states, offering everything from street snacks to regional delicacies. There will also be stalls with ethnic clothing, jewellery, decor items, and handcrafted Diwali gifts. A series of photo booths, live art, and traditional displays will add a beautiful visual charm for families and attendees.
🪔 Interactive Stalls:
Guests will be able to explore cultural exhibits, mehndi artists, kids’ zones, and even Indian beer and festive beverages — truly a celebration for all senses.
🎭 5 PM onwards – Cultural Showcase:
The evening stage performances will feature dance, music, and theatrical acts from various Indian states, performed by talented local and professional artists.
There will be plenty of chairs available for the audience to enjoy the show comfortably, and the atmosphere will be full of energy, excitement, and community spirit.
🎇8:30 PM – The Grand Highlight:
With Ottawa’s regional fireworks ban threatening to dim celebrations for a second year in a row, Food Basics has stepped in to keep the community spirit alive by hosting a spectacular Diwali-themed drone show. The display will light up Ottawa’s skies at 8:30 PM, light to the Festival of Lights.
💜 Surprises Await:
As always, we’re keeping a few exciting surprises up our sleeve for the evening, and the buzz is already strong. Many attendees and organizations have expressed their eagerness to join — they’re expecting something spectacular!
