Events Description
HarpSparks is all about embracing new sound worlds and greater creativity, using the harp to foster broader interdisciplinary collaboration and community. The inaugural festival includes a harp masterclass with Emily Levin from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, an improvisation workshop with local guitarist and composer Roddy Ellias, and a concert for solo and duo harp featuring music written within the last 20 years performed by Michelle Gott and Emily Levin.
Our improvisation workshop on Saturday, March 2nd is open to all instruments/voice types and levels – no experience required. People have asked if they need to know “jazz theory” to participate, and the answer is NO, NOT AT ALL! This session is about unlocking creativity, no matter your level or instrument – amateur musicians, students, and professionals are all equally welcome and encouraged to come. Spots are still available for this session!
