Events Description
This March Break, celebrate Canada’s journey around the Moon!
Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will soon become the first Canadian to fly around the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission. Come celebrate with us as we mark this historic journey! Explore hands-on Moon displays, take part in live demonstrations on gravity and craters, join a mission-inspired scavenger hunt, and more!
- Gravity demonstration: Explore gravity in action! In this demonstration, we visualize gravity according to Einstein and discover the impacts of gravity on the Sun, Moon and planets in our Solar System.
- Creating craters: Discover how craters are formed and what scientists can learn about them at these daily (and messy!) demonstrations.
- Moon gallery: See the Moon as Astronaut Jeremy Hansen will experience it. Explore high-resolution lunar images, touch 3D models, and use 3D glasses to experience the Moon’s surface up close.
- Scavenger hunt: Can you spot all the symbols from Astronaut Jeremy Hansen’s mission patch? Track them down around the museum and earn a special Artemis II themed prize.
- Canadarm challenge: Think you know your Canadian human spaceflight history? Put your knowledge to the test in this interactive timeline game—with a twist. Use a Canadarm-inspired mechanism to place each milestone in its correct spot and see if you can build the story of Canada in space.
- Zoom to the Moon: Guided by an inspiring story, children embark on an imaginative journey through the Solar System. Along the way, they explore comets, asteroid belts, and distant planets while learning fascinating space facts. Recommended for ages 3 to 6 years.
