Join us for a night of truly international laughs as comedian Matt Davis (Just For Laughs Utrecht International Comedy Festival Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Festival XM/Sirius Netflix bunch of stuff ) returns to Ottawa Ontario for one night at Absolute Comedy on Preston Street for a preview of his latest festival comedy hour!
Come laugh along as Matt previews a new under-development show tackling the theme of “how to be colorful in an increasingly black and white world” with fresh takes on a variety of topics all with the usual “internationally-minded” considerations for which the world traveled comedian is known.
This show is a “work in progress” preview from which Matt will continue to shape the 60 minute show to be toured through international comedy festivals during the 2024/2025 season but don’t let that fool you it will be chalk full of his usual hilarity.
It will be a funny and wild ride for sure so grab your tickets and see why Matt was dubbed “an intellectually-driven stand up comedy king” in Australia and why press from China to Pakistan to Morocco to Washington State U.S.A. have all had nice things to say:

About Matt Davis
Matt Davis has performed at numerous global performing arts and comedy festivals in Africa Asia Europe and North America; and toured solo shows through hundreds of cities across more than sixty (60) countries including many where he was the first foreign artist to work with local scenes.
In addition to 25+ years of performing his comedic short films have been featured in collectives at the Film Dayton festival the LYAO comedy festival and the Cincinnati Film Festival; his latest a 1/4 hour animated episodic titled Going Somewhere with Matt Davis debuted as an official selection of the 25th Anniversary Sidewalk Film Festival (2023).
In 2015 Matt Davis launched the World in Jest project to embody the belief that real and imagined borders can be crossed when people prioritize communities of shared interest. In 13 months he co-produced with local arts scenes over 100 performances across more than 30 countries. Matt followed this up with two more international tours: Hello Watchlist and BadFamiliar the latter of which was performed over fifty (50) times at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and toured through Europe Asia and Australia before being interrupted by the year 2020 and its general malaise.
His latest show under development evolves the ideas from his previous international tours including “dismissing the notion that familiar equals good” with fresh material and new themes.
When not on stage Matt is usually writing recording animating or editing something very silly.
