The Pink Martini adventure began in 1994, in Oregon. Originally centered around Thomas M. Lauderdale and China Forbes, the group with multiple inspirations and collaborations sings in English, French, but also Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Croatian…
Their musical style, eclectic, goes from a samba worthy of a parade in Rio de Janeiro to the music of a French cabaret of the years. A cocktail that has an effect, since their songs have been used in various films (Nurse Betty, In The Cut), series (The Sopranos, Dead Like Me) and advertisements. Their first album, “Sympathique”, was released in 1997 by Heinz Records, under Naïve license in Europe. We find there the key piece “Je ne veux pas travailler”, which will make the group known in Europe.
