Events Description
The Peterborough Concert Band will perform on Sunday, July 20th, from 2:00 – 4:00pm as part of the Peterborough Riverview Park and Zoo Sunday concert series at the beautiful outdoor Gazebo area. The venue is located inside the zoo just before the train station.
The Band brings joy to the public of all ages. The concert promises a performance of popular tunes from Selections from Wicked to Selections from Chicago to Mamma Mia! The concert will kick off with Maple Leaf Forever, a beautiful patriotic song written by Alexander Muir in 1867, the year of Canada’s Confederation. The program will also contain a wonderful medley of songs from the popular James Bond movies. You also will not want to miss our Tribute to Dave Brubeck! The performance is free and suitable for all age levels.
The Peterborough Concert Band, which is conducted by Saman Shahi, is a spirited community band based in Peterborough, Ontario. Founded in 1858, it is one of the oldest continuously operating concert bands in Canada. For 167 years, it has reflected the cultural and historical life of Peterborough and the nation.
