Events Description
On the March tour, we will focus on searching for and listening to the mating call of any Barred Owls, Boreal Owl, Great Gray Owls, Northern Hawk Owls, Northern Saw-whet Owls and the chance of a Northern Pygmy Owl. We will also watch for any Spruce Grouse, Ruffed Grouse, Pileated Woodpecker, American Three-toed Woodpecker, Black-backed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee, Pine Grosbeak, Common Redpoll and other winter birds.

WHEN & WHERE
Date: Saturday March 15, 2025 to Sunday March 16, 2025
Day 1
Tour departs Saskatoon at 9 am.
Participants may choose to join the Meadow Lake Park birding tour at either North Battleford (10:45 AM) or Meadow Lake town (1:30 PM) or Pierceland (2:45 PM). We will plan to stop at a restaurant in Meadow Lake for lunch. We will make roadside stops for any interesting birds during the drive.
Overnight at a motel or bed & breakfast.
Plan to bring food to eat supper in the field.
Optional late evening outing to listen for any calling Barred Owls, Boreal Owls, Northern Saw-whet Owls, Great Gray Owls or Great Horned Owls.
Day 2
Breakfast in town. Bring food for your lunch. We plan to bird in the park all morning and much of the afternoon. then drive back home in the afternoon. If you wish, you may plan to stay longer in the park on your own. Some planned stops include:
